Aupark extension to be opened on August 23rd
Almost 15 thousand additional square meters of lettable retail area in Bratislava

The extended part of the shopping & entertainment centre Aupark Bratislava will be opened on August 23rd. The Capital city will thus acquire almost 15 thousand square meters of retail space. The gross lettable area of Aupark Bratislava will so increase to 58 thousand square meters, making it the largest shopping centre in the country.

The premises of the German fashion chain Peek & Cloppenburg, who decided to locate their Central European “flagship” store in Aupark, will take up more than a third of the newly opened extension. The store, which is located on three floors with a total area of 5 thousand square meters, will from now offer not only women’s fashion but also men’s and children’s collections.

The fashion chains H&M and C&A also count their shops in thousands of square meters. The Swedish H&M stretches on 1,500 square meters, the C&A store is even larger and adds another 50% to this area. Both stores are located on two floors. The main retail eye-catchers are notably the brands of the Spanish company Inditex – Stradivarius, Bershka, Pull & Bear and especially Zara - it is the first time in Slovakia for most of these shops.

It is not only fashion to be found in the extended Aupark, the new building offers a chockotery, cafes and hair design studio. Also the assortment of financial services will be enhanced. “We have designed the commodity mix in such a way, as to offer our customers an optimized mix of brands, services and range of goods” explains Robert Kantor, the general manager of Aupark.

Aupark Bratislava was opened in 2001 and is currently the most sought-after shopping centre in Slovakia with an average daily visit rate of 32,000 visitors. The construction works on the extension began in January last year and the total investment costs reached 1 billion Slovak Crowns. The developer is HB Reavis Group, which has already completed 10 projects. Their current development plan is dominated by the multifunctional project Twin City amounting to 17 billion Slovak Crowns and will be built on Mlynské Nivy in Bratislava.
