Twin City architects awarded Disigners of Year 2007
Benoy design atelier sustained the most prestigious award in retail and leisure real estate projects
Every year the real estate industry intensively awaits the prestigious results of RLI Global Awards. These are presented in 14 categories by the British magazine Retail and Leisure International, specialised in retail and leisure real estate projects around the world. The London architects Benoy won the category Designer of Year (RLI designer of Year) again this year thus sustaining their title from last year.
„Benoy has evolved rapidly over the past four years; what was once a UK-based practice, has transformed into a global design powerhouse and the international team is currently driving expansion into new territories.“ thus justifies the jury their choice. The designer of Year award is a tribute to the designers that contribute to creating sustainable social, cultural and economical values. Professional jury examines both the design process, its objective and, most importantly, the results.
Benoy is among the top ten largest British design ateliers. It is a internationally renowned company of architects, urbanists and interior designers. Currently there are more than 350 architects working for Benoy, reaching to 26 countries in the world including Slovakia. In Bratislava, Benoy is working on Twin City, the largest multifunctional complex in the entire Central and Eastern Europe region.
The Twin City project, whose developer is HB Reavis Group, brings more culture, entertainment, office space, a hotel, as well as luxurious living apartments. The multifunctional complex will grow up on the bounds of Bratislava’s Old Town and Ružinov districts by 2011. A completely new and modern bus terminal will be an integral part of the project. The total investment costs represent approximately 17 billion Slovak Crowns.
